My-Nga Lam
Senior Associate
As a designer working in high-end, multi-unit residential, My-Nga has extensive experience designing highly efficient and financially successful residential unit plan layouts geared toward the luxury urban homebuyer. She is responsible for design and development of plans and elevations from conception through to construction documents, and ensuring adherence to city zoning ordinances and plan development constraints. She has a proven ability to lead, direct, and oversee a project team of junior architects.
My-Nga is currently leading the design team on the 2520 North Lakeview project, a luxury residential high-rise in Lincoln Park with multiple towers overlooking Lake Michigan. As Senior Designer, she has planned over 15 different unit types varying in area from 1000 to 8000 square feet. Her strengh also lies in the organization of building elevations to achieve the formal elegance typically seen in traditional buildings, and in developing vintage exterior wall details.
Since joining Lucien Lagrance Architects, My-Nga’s projects have included 10 East Delaware, a 34-story luxury condominium building on Chicago’s Gold Coast, and 840 North Lake Shore Drive. For the latter, she developed traditional exterior wall details that included limestone and pre-cast cladding systems, ornamental metal handrails, and a shaped zinc roof. In developing financially feasible custom details, she places a strong importance on modularization of cladding panels, repetition of intricate details, and simplification of components. She strives to ensure that the built form maintains its traditional/ historical aesthetic, while also achieving a high technical performance.
From McGill University, My-Nga holds a Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelors of Science in Architecture and Pre-Civil Engineering.
