The English-Speaking Union was founded in 1920 to “present a community of thought which would produce a community of action.” Today, the ESU of the United States has 76 branches with about 14,000 members in total. Headquartered in London, there are over 14 international ESU branches devoted to creating mutual global understanding through English.
